FULL EPISODE SYNOPSIS (spoiler!)

Brooke wakes up to a splashing sound. A stranger is using her family's swimming pool just outside her window. She goes out there to throw him out. He's a young Latino, pretending not to understand English. She can't quite believe her eyes when he exits the pool not wearing anything at all.

Nathan gets along well with his uncle Keith, who has given him a job after his father threw him out, because Dan thinks Nathan's marriage to Haley is a mistake. It's not easy for Nathan to cope financially, having always relied on his father's money so far.

Lucas visits Dan to try to get through to him, after overhearing a conversation between his mother and Deb, Dan's wife, who is worried because Dan is refusing to start exercising after his heart-attack. Lucas actually manages to get Dan to take a walk with him. But Dan is still in a foul mood that gets even worse when he hears that Nathan is working at the dealership now.

It's Karen's first day at high school, she is waiting for her first class - Business 101 - to start, when a guy drops down in the chair next to her. He tells her that the teacher, Andy Hargrove, is a tough guy. That doesn't really help to calm her nerves. Then the guy gets up again and walks to the front. To Karen's great surprise it turns out that he is Andy Hargrove. He introduces himself to the class and then opens the course with the statement, that you need greed to be successful in business. Karen is the only one to disagree. But Andy tells the class that she is right. Karen likes his style. And his smile.

A reckless driver parks his car in Brooke's spot. It turns out that he is the guy who was in her pool earlier. She is very annoyed when she finds out that he is her new neighbour, Felix. His attitude drivers her mad. Felix quickly makes friends with Mouth, who is taken in by Felix's dominating nature. Felix is hitting on every woman he meets and annoys about everyone he talks to.

Nathan and Lucas talk about their father. Nathan is surprised that Lucas is willing to give Dan another chance, after all he knows about him, but he understands that Lucas must make sure he won't regret one day not to have gotten to know him better.

Dan wants Keith to fire Nathan, so his son will realise his marriage was a mistake. But Keith refuses to do it. He tells his brother that he should do it himself, once he is fit enough to come back to work.

Nathan has bought a keyboard for Haley, so she can compose at home. Haley is upset, because they badly needed a car and she and Nathan have their first fight since they got married.

Karen is getting a coffee at a cafe on the pier when she runs into Andy. She asks him why he picked on her in class and he replies that he likes to find a student who will give him a run for his money. He tells her that he got bored at running a business and being rich, so he took up teaching. Karen talks to him about expanding her cafe and he encourages her to go ahead with her plans.

Peyton is talking to an artistic manager about having his bands for a gig at an All Ages Night. He refuses but then he overhears her talking to two musicians and gets interested. Peyton is happy, until he is offering her drugs.

Later Peyton finds out that Brooke is broke. Her father's company went bancrupt and they may have to sell the house. Brooke is devastated, she has been rich all her life and does not know how to cope with the prospect of not being rich anymore.

Dan needs to take a car for a test drive, but his doctor won't let him drive yet. So he asks Lucas to be the driver. On the road the meet Felix who challenges them to a race. Felix is reckless. He eventually wins when Lucas brakes because a truck is coming their way while they are driving side by side and is about to collide with Felix's car. Lucas is hurt when Felix comes over to talk to them and Dan doesn't let on that he is his dad. Back at the house Dan offers to give Luke the car as a gift. But Lucas says he cannot be bought. He is both disillusioned about Dan and disappointed.

Karen is getting out her old extension plans, seriously considering to realise them after her talk with Andy. Deb is the first to see them and immediately offers to be an investor. Karen is surprised and delighted.

Brooke goes into a shop and attempts to steal a bra. Of course the alarm goes off, but she is rescued by Felix, who just happened to be there. She is embarrassed while he enjoys her dilemma.

Nathan comes by his old home to pick up the car. Dan emerges from the house to talk to him. Nathan remains reserved. Dan makes an effort and enquires about his son's wife. Nathan replies that she is a lot happier than his father's.

At the dealership Keith lets Nathan in on a few secrets of the trade. When he hears about his trouble with Haley and their need for a car. There's an old car at the dealership Keith wanted to sell for parts. He offers to fix it together with Nathan and then to let his nephew have it. Nathan is happy. When he comes home he and Haley make up. She loves the keyboard and is delighted when she hears about the car they will be getting.

Andy walks into Karen's Cafe and offers her a thousand dollars for a decent cup of coffee.

Brooke goes skinny dipping in Felix's pool to confirm his comment that her pool is better than his.
